Devin Booker and the 70 Night

On March 24, 2017, the Phoenix Suns played against the Boston Celtics. 21-year-old Booker made history by giving a fire performance on the court.

The Boston Celtics received 34 points from Isaiah Thomas and outlasted the Phoenix Suns by 130-120 on Friday night. Boston took advantage of a catastrophic shooting start by the Suns to build an early cushion.

The Suns missed their first 13 shots from the floor, until Booker finally hit the first field goal for Phoenix on a layup. With 4 minutes 40 seconds left in the first quarter, Booker got into his rhythm.

Even though the Suns lost to the Celtics, it was a night to remember.

Booker scored an extravagant 70 points, becoming the sixth player in NBA history to reach that total. Booker joined Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, David Thompson, David Robinson, and Elgin Baylor as the NBA’s six only 70-point scorers.

While the Celtics emerged victorious with a 130-120 win, Booker provided a glimpse of his potential with one of the best individual efforts one would witness all season. Here’s a look at Booker’s stats that night.
